Technology and projects
Tobias Post has been developing software for decades: desktop applications, 2D and 3D visualisation and real-time systems for spaces with multiple projectors and sensors. The selection shows his own tools and platforms, an earlier software product and an artistic work in which the technology becomes visible. Each entry states which task is solved, what was developed and what it is for.
Products
IMPACT4IMMERSIVE RUNTIME
Task: run installations on many image surfaces at the same time.
Developed: a runtime system in C++, Qt and QML that addresses projections as zones, adapts them to architecture and room geometry and integrates sensors such as 3D LiDAR scanners.
Benefit: designed for continuous operation; projects can be tested independently of the set-up and variants prepared.
Real-time systems for space, projection and sensors

Products
IMPACT4IMMERSIVE IDE
Task: develop installations that remain reliable across changing spaces, conversions and extensions.
Developed: a dedicated development environment with code editor, debugger, graphical node editor and AI support, 2D and 3D in one project.
Benefit: implement projects more robustly and with a more precise fit than with common game development environments. -

Museum Wendener Hütte
Task: a projected image should respond to visitors.
Developed: in the immersive work DornenstaubII, 3D sensors capture the movements; self-developed software translates them in real time into images on several walls.
Benefit: realised in the vaulted cellar of the Museum Wendener Hütte.

Impact4Exhibition
Task: play through exhibitions completely digitally before they are set up.
Developed: a floor plan editor with a real-time 3D preview in which works, light, projectors with real parameters and architecture come together.
Benefit: everyone involved sees the same space; changes are visible immediately. -

Sculpt – Museum
Visualisation
Visualisation – not a realised project.
Task: show an exhibition, including its technology, in a possible space.
Developed: planned with Impact4Exhibition – floor plan, section, axonometric view, walkthrough film and, for each device group, image size, distance and throw ratio.
Benefit: space, light and technology can be checked before anything is set up.

Impact4Sculpt
Task: generate animated 3D sequences for immersive applications without building every scene by hand.
Developed: a generator that builds sculptures from parameters and automatically controls 3ds Max with V-Ray; output as loopable PNG sequences with masks and passes.
Benefit: light and material are pre-rendered – the real-time application is relieved of that load. -
Texts
AI-native Digital Infrastructure
Task: run five websites on one foundation and keep developing them.
Developed: a dedicated platform instead of a standard CMS; AI is part of the development process.
Benefit: no cookies and no embedded third-party content, on its own server in Germany.
