Digital light art for museums and art venues
Site-specific light works
Development and realisation of digital light art for museums and institutional art venues. The works grow out of an analysis of space, scale and architectural structure. Lighting, control systems and technical construction are worked out precisely and matched to the spatial conditions. Concept and technical realisation are not separate. The result is an installed light work with a clearly defined spatial order and a stable technical execution.
Artistic possibilities
Projections onto walls, floors, ceilings and architectural elements, interactive works that respond in real time to movement and touch, and groups of works that take up a venue’s theme – such as the crystal works for the Westfälische Salzwelten or BRUTAL VERDREHT on the historic compressor of the Kokerei Hansa.
Space and technology
The starting point is the site itself: dimensions, light, sight lines and visitor routes. Image surfaces are controlled individually and fitted to the architecture, including with several projectors – in exhibition halls as well as in industrial halls, vaults and church spaces.
Collaboration
It begins with a conversation about site, theme and time frame. This leads to the concept and technical planning, coordinated with the venue through installation and operation. Based in Bochum, Tobias Post realises projects throughout Germany.
